Hi Folks,
Made this today, still needs tidying a bit & new seals getting as the old ones are like elastic & extremely difficult to fit into place without scratching the f**k out of the alloy, so just wedged in there with a bit of tape at the moment, just so I can see what it's gonna look like & what else I can do to it. Maybe a silver dollar or much cheaper half dollar inset or is that crass? Maybe just a cut groove ring as it looks very functional at the moment. What do you think?
Anyway just thought I'd post this. I'm always open to suggestions for improvements because as we all know it's really difficult to look at something you've done with an objective eye & also very easy to f**k up by rushing. Leaving it till tomorrow evening now.
Thanks Folks. Paul.

Thanks Barney.
Anyway, I know I said I was gonna leave it alone till this evening, but one look at it this Am gave me all the objectiveness I needed. I decided to stick to my basic principle in life. Keep things simple.
I made the conical section a bit steeper by 10 degrees, took a little of the circumferance to line it up better with the casing & put a simple 20mm cut on the face to detail it.
This is the end result. I like it.

Thanks for that Nutah,
May try them on the next set I turn out. It's not the dollar, quarters & nickels I want but the American Eagles on the rears, they would look fine I think.
I'll do a set & post pics.
By the way is this the correct forum to put this kind of stuff in? I think it's technical but others may think these types belong in Buell chat or somewhere else. Can someone clarify Thanks.
All the best folks. Paul

Yahoo!
Something at last stirred some interest. If you can manage some dimensions & a picture of where it fits that would help.
At the moment I have 50mm, 25mm & 38mm alloy bar to work with. Only real problem is hacksawing blanks off the the flippin' bars as they come on 500mm lengths.
Very happy to have a go at anything for a donotion to the club coffers of whatever you think the piece is worth when you get it.
I'll keep posting what I make for mine so people can see the difference in quality as I go along.
Just done one of the front fork sliders for my 1125r, finish is better on this via wet n dry rather than skill on the lathe ha ha.
All the best. Paul.
