Just bought an xb12r and I'm looking for advice on upgrades. I would like to change the stock mirrors for something that actually works. Small indicators would be nice and a slip on exhaust, just to make it look better (stock is rusty)
Any advice welcome

Exhausts look here http://ukbeg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4181 oval original style. Twin cylindrical or Reverso style. They're all good off Alan. For indicators try eBay you'll be spoilt for choice. If you go led or halogen you'll need a flasher relay to suit. Mirrors the same p!ace. The world's your lobster :yup:

Just had a think about the indicators on the way home. If money is no object and you want style type into eBay motogadget indicators. They can go up to 70 quid apiece. Same with rizoma indicators. Mirrors do you want fairing mounted or bar end mounted if fairing mounted you'll need to measure the mounting hole/bolt centres and buy appropriately. EBay is the place though.

Not worried about the mirrors as I want ones that actually do a job. Thanks for the replies

Maybe think about bits that will make your engine last longer...

A robust oil pump gear - this is what happens if it fails...

A grease nipple on the end of the output shaft - Plenty of chat on that, here is a bit...

A Free Spirits Tensioner - reduces the load on the gearbox output bearing, again plenty of chat on that...

Sorry...

I have not had an issue with my Firebolt mirrors, however I use Oberons on the X1 and find them quite good. Think Adam also put them on his 1125 before it got turned into a trackhack. The Chinese appear to be making the same design too.

Oberon are quality for both indicators and mirrors.

I have them on my Husqvarna motard thingy mounted upside down, and use a more conventional bar end mirror on my 1198 Duc and X1. They work well.

Quick update :!:
I have conferred with Steve from foggimoto2015 on eBay and he will give those who want a tensioner a discount of 7.5% if you order and quote that you are from UKBEG. Not loads, but remember, every little helps. He is also quite helpful on other stuff. :yup:
