Probably not. More grip, shorter life. I think I'd only put super grippy tyres on if was doing track days. These days a longer life tyre will have more than adequate grip for the road (unless you treat the road like a race track, obviously).

(in my skint days I used to ride on Barums :ill: my more affluent mates were on Avon Roadrunners)
