Okay so I know you live in England but do you ride it in the rain?

Nope. But i did just ride to Le Mans for the MotoGP. Weather was shockin on the ride there but great from the Friday evening onwards. So basically, i dont want slicks but something close to. Taq

I use Dunlop Q3s on my X1 and my Ninja Z1000SX. Love how it falls into turns fast but in control and doesn't squirm under hard braking. Traction is fantastic.

When I tour, I change to Bridgestone S20 Evos on my Ninja. There's a successor to it now, but it's got excellent traction (similar traction to the older Q2) and stability in the wet and dry.

No cupping or abnormal wear on the F/R Q3s with the X1's 23 degree rake. Should be just fine on the 21 degree XB as well.

I just put my 2nd set of Q3s on the X1 last weekend.

Used to put Pirelli Corsas or Diablos on my XB, don't know what the latest ones are called, but they'll certainly be sticky :P

Any Pirelli (road) tyre that has Corsa in the name will be plenty sticky enough.

That said, just about any modern road tyre will be better than most riders (on the road).

Hi I'm running the new Bridgestone S21 front and back. You can put the RS10 on the front if you want a bit more grip. Done 1.5k on them now and I like them. I tried the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 and they were great, but you can watch them wear away before your eyes, because they were £30 a pair more than the (£189 when I got them) Bridgestones. Some say that the Bridgestones are hard work to get off the rim, I haven't gone there yet. I do like the grip and the way they warm up, I don't try to ride in the rain though.
And now I will keep my head down :couch:

I've just put Rosso 3's on my MV Agusta in the hope that I will get better miles than the last pair of SuperCorsa SPs which were ruined after 2000 miles.

Probably not. More grip, shorter life. I think I'd only put super grippy tyres on if was doing track days. These days a longer life tyre will have more than adequate grip for the road (unless you treat the road like a race track, obviously).

(in my skint days I used to ride on Barums :ill: my more affluent mates were on Avon Roadrunners)

In my skint days, I put on the scrapper tyres other people took off, choosing was done by those with money, for me if it fitted the wheel - it went on.

Did you also turn the rear sprocket round and take a link or two out of the chain :?: lOl

The answer is - whatever it took to keep moving. I remember an old XL 250 chain with 3 split links, starter solenoid not working? Start by shorting across the two posts with a screwdriver and changing tyre's based on how much canvas was visible. Happy days :D
