I recently sold my '03 XB9S and bought an '09 1125CR. With the same journey to work, same traffic, same everything basically, I used to get around 45mpg on my XB9, but after 2 fill ups on my 1125, I'm getting about 27.

Is this normal for an 1125 in moderate to heavy traffic? I know it obviously gets worse, but with a direct comparison against my XB9 im surprised it's so low.

I know my CR could stretch to over 200 miles on a tank when cruising fully loaded ;)

My 1125R did less mpg than my 3.0 litre BMW I had at the time. Of course mpg isn't everything, but wasn't impressed that an 'up-to-date' engine was not as efficient as one of a design then years plus older...

Mmmm, its not everything, but makes me wonder if theres a problem, that's why I keep a record of my mpg.

I should be able to get over 180 miles before the light comes on at 45mpg+, but I managed just 100 on this tank this week.

I see from your location London ,and traffic as you put it" moderate to heavy traffic "
begs the question if you got the correct bike for the job at hand

Well, any bike I want is the correct bike for the job. I don't need a cruiser, or an adventure bike, or a sport bike, or a scooter, but they'll all get me to work. In fact I thought my XB9 was perfect for getting to work, and the 1125 is very similar. As you will see though, I wasn't saying "I want an economical bike to get to work, this is ridiculous", I was saying "with the direct comparison to with my XB9 I'm surprised it's so low".

Umm, I think they're called Peter Stanchions. No wait, Peter Stadiums.

No that's not it, Petrol Stadiums. Yeh.

"Four gallons of four-star and 4 shots please, Attendant".
"Certainly Sir, that'll be twenty shillings exactly, would you like me to check your oil?"

The above conversation is etched in my memory from being with my Father in our Vauxhall 101 deLuxe when he refuelled each Saturday morning... :old:
They weren't an economical car to run, Ferris, so count your blessings. lOl

Assuming the Vauxhall 101 deluxe didn't have a 2 stroke engine, what were the shots :?:
