Hard to say really Nigel. They are 'Marmite' bikes and quite rare. It has lots of good, sensible upgrades and wouldn't take much to get it more together.
There isn't much in the advert that would put me off if I wanted a Thunderbolt.

I'd say it depends on what and how you usually ride, and what you're expecting from a Buell.

The footpegs are dangerous in my opinion, cheap fix. Air intake is from the guts of the original. Tank bubbling is common. Nice bike.

Thanks for replies.
Also what do you think this would need to improve it?

Does this mean you are looking to bid?

Also Maz seems favourite for repairs, any body nearer to west wales?
thanks

Not planning on bidding on this, I would be looking more for a low mileage much loved one. Not got the garage space yet anyway.

Not saying this is a bad bike, a chunk of the important bits are done and the bad points are mostly cosmetic, could be lucky and it could go on for years. Just not the base for the project I would want to start from.

I had one of those, a "T" model. I never thought twice about not coming home for the weekend and packing on some miles. Inner cases didn't even crack on me. Comfortable and can be hustled around when dialed in right. As long as HD is around you'll be able to keep it running.

When I brought my first X1 home, I turned this into a landspeed race bike.

this was my first buell, bit of an eye opener having not ridden for a few years! liked it so much that i subsequently bought 2 more :)

only 200 miles so far this year and as a bike it wont get better just sitting there, infact as we know it is indeed likely to go wrong in the future :(

There might be, but they wouldn't be anywhere near as good!
Many folk have had their bike transported to the Emporium for work

This particular bike or one like it?
Still bidding but not reached reserve.
10,000 mile service seems a major cost, but with 21000 miles up probably worth it.
I could do all of the work myself but time constraints mean it may be farmed out!
