Sent the wheels of my 06 Ully to be powder coated, large areas of blistering under the surface coating. At least they will remove all the original coating before applying new gloss black powder coating. The primary case and cam cover are beginning to get infected by the alloy worm. As I will have to deal with this myself, what is the best, quickest and most effective way of removing the stuff that covers these parts? Nitro morce is not what it used to be. When I get them stripped I have not decided weather to polish or paint, I can do that, or just get them professionally powder coated. Any thoughts ?

I think I would re-powder coat them , as with any casting it could be porous and you could end up with tyre pressures dropping ! not a good thing ! plus wiping down clean is easier than keeping them polished , unless you are doing another chroming type coating which would seal the casting , but I think chroming would eventually cause its own problems if it started to break up .
I'm sure others will correct me !! :coat:

Remove the covers ,cover up the cam bushings and have them blasted and coated to.
Or if you don't want to remove them from the engine ,have them wed blasted and paint them with 2k quality paint.
