How long does it take to get your registration email back from the ECMSpy people? I registered at the weekend, but I haven't seen anything yet?

My advice was:

1. Check your junk mail
2. Log on to ECMSpy to see if your files are ready to download
3. PM Gunter

Thanks Pash

All checked, just waiting for Gunter to get back to me. I noticed from his profile he's not been on the forum since about the 6th Aug, so perhaps he's on holiday?

I've still heard nothing from Gunter, so perhaps he is away at the moment? So with another few warm days coming up I hooked a copy of Tuner Pro up to the bike this morning. The firmware is showing as BUE2D242, which matches with the 09 registration. I downloaded the XDF and ADX files from the xoptiinside and ECMspy web sites and everything connects and reads from the ECM OK. The bike is definitely set to speed based fan operation:

But I'm a little hesitant to untick the box and send the change to the ECM

This is the screen Pash posted from ECMSpy

And these are the corresponding areas of Tuner Pro

There are some really odd values in there, which makes me think that because the image Buell / HD flashed into the bike contained speed based fan logic, they didn't bother setting up the temperature based side of things? Volts 25, fan on at 305 degrees centigrade?

Looking at this more closely, I think I have the answer. The underlying logic is not simply value based. The values in those tables plot graphs with ranges of values and the fan operation appears to be linked to what I assume is the charging voltage the ECM is detecting. I may of course be completely wrong, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself will correct me.

So at normal operating voltage (13.8 / 14v) the fan on temperature will be around 190 degrees C

So at normal operating voltage the fan off temperature will be about 150 degrees C (although Tuner Pro seems to draw the graph the wrong way round?)

It's actually much more complicated than I thought. 2010 fan logic is explained here:
