Hello,
anyone fitted auxiliary lighting to their Ully? Headlights are fine around town, just would like a bit more when out in the sticks. Picked up a couple of nice smallish spots, just debating how/ where to mount. My XT has a very useful looking pair of holes on the side of the firing mount (for the XP model I guess), just not sure if I wouldn't prefer to mount them lower than the headlights. If others have mounted lower, where did you mount? fork leg/ lower yoke?
Thoughts and pictures appreciated.

Thanks for the link, the bracket is a possible, ideal world (due to the spots already bought) the mount would be horizontal for lamp fitment, I would probably look to put a 90° bend at the point it clears the yoke. Bracket looks long enough to bend, just need to check it's sturdy enough for me to do this, unfortunately, they're away at the moment.
That tail tidy got me thinking, I was going to run this bike standard, but when the luggage is off, the tidy improves the look.........a lot. I'll look into this a bit more. Thanks again

Have had a look, unfortunately you can't see the fitment on nearly everything.

In my last post, that should have been 90° twist not bend.

Another idea i just thought of was the police model but i dont think its anywhere near what you are looking for but it looks like the lights clamp round the forks, there are some clamps on ebay i would think?

Have spent the afternoon eBay already, was looking for clamps that could be fitted without having to drop the forms from the yoke, only found 2 types;
One type does not protrude far enough to bolt directly to (universal steering damper clamp)
The other, absolutely perfect - but £100+. Too much

Thinking outside the box - Did find some very cheap, lightweight 43mm flat clip ons that could work (if I was going to drop the forms).

Looking at the bracket in your picture, it looks like it mounts to the X's front mudguard bolt holes.

It does. I have one on mine. Y1012.1AU IIRC.

Have a look here for more ideas:

Pash - thanks for the link, looking at the exploded diagram it shows a rather more complicated bracket than I need with the mount still being verticle. I think I have come to the conclusion that I will probably make a bracket for the lights, utilising the the same mount holes for the Y1012.1AU IIRC bar. The frustrating thing is that I threw out the perfect thing (about 50cm of 4mm ally right angle) when making room for the bike in the garage, it fell into the catergory of could be useful but has not been so far! Already had a route through the engineers workshop at work for a worthy piece, there were a lot of diferent types/ styles of stainless cable tray that could be butchered for the job. Keeping my eyes open.
