Agreed, I'm sure Erik will be asked about the current situation at Monday's event. Whether he's at liberty to disclose any details is another matter.

CJ i doubt Erik can talk freely about it :sad1:
American corporate law probably has it all water tight ,with non disclosure clauses
or whatever it's called. :?:

At least the name 'Buell Drive' is still existent last time I looked. Enigmatic statement or sad reminder? :?

Maybe we could still ask Erik what pipe dreams he still holds? 8-)

If it's a product they believe in, then they would. Nobody wants to invest and lose money. Erik hasn't designed anything I'm interested in since 2002. And current offerings couldn't offer anywhere near what the competition could for the price. They'd have to be priced as an exotic and they'd still have to offer the tech for that price.

If I want a new v-twin, I'm going to Ducati or KTM. Hell, I'll even buy an old RC51 over a new EBR.

He would have more luck working for the Chinese. They would build it for half the price. It may break, but it would look good and retail cheap as chips!

By the look of some of their products at a local dealer, they are on the move! :?

Great if he tied up with Polaris, and designed a nice street fighter/race style bike using there powerful indian scout engine.
That 1200 cc water cooled 8 valve engine has some potential.

Not so Richard, Ursus and I had a long discussion with Erik about production costs in the USA and 'cheap' countries, sure they were cheaper, but not much. And if you are paying someone abroad, you are not paying someone in your own country...

Yes, l heard some of those things on Monday......and Erik's commendable reasons. :oooops:

I suppose that he could just retire happily now and do a few personal projects, with maybe the occasional consultancy job if the opportunity arose? 8-)
