Anyone able to give a (very) rough estimate how many miles a bog standard XB12ss should run for when the displays warns of low fuel? Bike has only done 5700 miles and runs fine. Had it 18months and love the thing, but never run the fuel down to the warning light so it would be nice to have a rough idea.

5 - 50 mls, depending on speed.

If you leave it until the low fuel light comes on you'd better be close to a petrol station. Best to use the trip meter and fill up asap after 100 miles :P

Mrs Adam got hers nearly 20 miles to a petrol station after a light went on, but was riding on a barely open throttle.

I've managed about 8 miles riding at 50mph without problems. The smell from my jeans wasn't very nice though.

I have ridden 30 miles with the fuel light on...but I can tend to be a thrifty rider!

I did the same on the Firebolt on the M25, wouldn't want to do it again...

I normally get 130 to the tank before fuel light comes on....then I try and find fuel ASAP. I think the fuel trip has reached about 15 miles before I have found a petrol station to refill. Fortunately not had to find out the hard way as yet...!

Lol...just ride the bike normally. I don't pussy around but again don't ride on the limiter all the time. Remember, I am a relative lightweight when it comes to Buelligans . Xx
