Got to work last night, tried to put the stand down and nothing there
After trying to find a good place to lean against (the bike not me) and alot of swearing got home and straight on the net.Found out their is a recall for 05 models so on the phone to local stealer, sorry sir but yours is an 04,but shouldn't it be the same part I pleaded, you will have to buy one sir.So do you think I would get anywhere by writing to buell U.K. and asking why they made their side stand pin out of cheese and why is their not a recall on all XB's or should I just keep my mouth shut and fork out for a new one.So people please make looking at the side stand pin part of your mantainance checks, would hate to see any buell go over.Still love my buell anyway, even though I am for eva fixing something and as a great man once said "firebolts are the future"

1. Retrace your steps and find your stand...

2. Put your VIN in here:

Just back off the phone with dealer, sevice kits for side stand witch include new upgraded stand and pin are now obsolete :headbang: and they only have a newer and more upgraded complete kit.Once again should this not be done on recall? and if the upgraded part was made of cheese aswell what was the point in putting it on the market. As for trying to find the bloody thing have u eva tried to find a needle in a hay stack(was a long ride to work).

I've got one for sale that was fitted to an '07 XB12R if that's any good to you? Ten squids plus P & P at cost price.

Send me a PM if interested, I'm located in sunny Macclesfield.

Cheers

Pat

I've got the stand off your bike and it's going to cost you £500 to get back.

That's beacuse it's sticking out of my windscreen.

It's easy enough to drill out the threaded part and use a pin and circlip (as the upgrade did, but they supplied a new stand)
It's a silly idea using a bolt in shear like that.
