You don't have to give them the chance to fix it unless you want to.
It is not fit for purpose.
I would ask for a full refund and then buy another bike.
Why not have a talk with Phil and see if you can come to an agreement on a price.
Yes I know it's more expensive but you wont need to spend as much on it.

... and Phil's X1 is not only a beautiful specimen. it's a known quantity.

Tell 'em to poke it.

Phils bike will need nowt spending on it other than the time it takes to refit the proper headlamp......which he's including in the sale.

And it needs the 10k service which I would use to negotiate more money off. ;)

if it helps make you feel any better they can't work on XB's either.

It took them 2 days to "fix" a bike that had the same misfire when i started it OUTSIDE THE DEALER as it did when i dropped it off.

Turns out they'd only checked their "fix" worked with the seat off. Only it was the seat wot was the problem all along  :headbang:

If you've bought the bike from West coast, I'd give them a phone telling them to come and collect there faulty goods, it did come with a warrenty after all and to recitfy the faults with a full and detailed report on what they have done, then go from there. Gently remind them of there short comings, broken promises and your disappointment in there service.

It's only by giving dealers a chance to change they will change ?

I've been down this rocky path with aforementioned dealer.
If your not happy with the bike tell them you have sought legal advice, put it in writing to them, a copy to Buell U.K. and your insurance company and if bought on finance, (probably not in this case), to them also. Watch how fast things change. ;)

Be careful if you accept repairs, you may seriously damage your rights to reject.

I am not a lawyer etc.

Personally I would load the bike on a van and deliver it back to West Coast with a letter stating why you are rejecting the bike. Give them an opportunity to settle and if not seek legal advice but leave the bike with them 'rejected'.

Don't want to say I told you so...........so I won't :D
