Hi everybody! I'm new to Buells having taken delivery of an XB9. Just a couple of questions. Does anyone know the maximum weight for rider and pillion? It should tell you on the frame, but no sign on mine. Also, does anyones header pipes glow red hot. Buell said they weren't aware of a problem and the dealer has stripped the bike and found everything ok.

Re the cherry red exhaust, check the static ignition timing. Maybe it is a tad retarded.

GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) and GAWR (axle wgt) "not to exceed" ratings should be on a plate on the frame steering head. An xb9 should be roughly 452 lbs/205 kg, and GVWR 850 lb/386 kg. If you didn't get an owner's manual, you should download one from buell.com, once you register there as an owner. Lots of good info in the manual, like the above spec's.
Enjoy!

Don't retard anything, they do get that hot and a dealer should know that.
When I fitted my reverso at :maz: 's he ran it with the lights out, quite scarry really they get that hot they almost look translucent, you'd think the f**ker would just catch fire, try it when it's dark, you don't need to rev it's nuts off.
