Chris, Sheena - if I was looking for an X1 this week, I'd look no further then Philthedrill's beautiful machine. Really. 8-)

I was just on there website looking at the X1.
I think it's a bit expensive although you do get a waranty with it.
Why don't you wait until the winter and get one for just over £2K.

Digger, £4.5k is way out of our price range, don't think any x1 is worth that. Pretty much the same as stabby's was and the insurance only paid out £3300

I would be careful about that one, my M2 is an "X" and that is a 2000.

X = 01 August 2000 28 February 2001

That one has chrome push rod tubes, should they not be black for an 01?? I'm no expert, but might be worth checking.

Phil's isa lovely bike if you can agree on a prce IMO

going to have a look tomorrow so what colour should the push rod tubes be then. and if all the recalls have been done is their any differance with the 2000 and 2001 bike

can i ask where the old x1 engine is (or should i get stuffed)? and also i changed my head and swing arm bearings- yes notchy and rust but cant notice the difference! :shock:

Oh I do ;) but tis like a woman ................spending money on them is no guarantie that they'll behave any better .....just make sure they have the importent things done :)

same here. Changed the swingarm, wheel and steering head bearings at around 14000 miles and they were also rusty and notchy. Bearings is not something one should skimp on, especially wheel bearings. Just stick to the service intervals. :yup:
