Newer R mirrors (from a 12) are more useful.

I bought a cheap and cheerful bar end mirror for my Lightning just to see if it worked for me, and although this is probably the wrong phrase to use, I've never looked back, so to speak

From my normal seated position, I can see everything from the back of the seat all the way to the horizon.

It is without doubt the best rear view I've had in over 25 years of riding (apart from Mrs Roo obviously).

I'm looking for some mirrors myself. Any chance of some piccies or a link?

I'm 6' 4" so my arm comes up at quite a steep angle from the bar so the stock mirrors were hopeless. Pic 3 is from my usual seated position and a quick look down shows me everything I need to see. I did originally have two of them but one was so good I took the other one off (and it looked a tiny bit stupid).

I recall they were about £30 for the two, generic motorcycle accessory. I think Adam suggested that the original expanding collett affair be binned in favour of a rawl bolt of suitable size which would provide a much more secure fixing but I haven't tried this yet.

Indeed they are - no doubt the sexy oberon number will be along shortly.

And to be fair, no more ugly than the plastic fantastic stock items.

Thanks for all the info but really think there are some mirrors off another make of bike that will fit and are slightly wider for a better view. So will keep trying and anymore info will be deeply divulged thanks guys.
