Ok..so the time had come for my 10k service and after reading recommendations on here about Blackbear and with my less than impressed view of Warrs in Mottingham I decided to give them a crack.

The 1st Obstacle that I needed to get past was getting my XB12Ss to Newmarket and myself back home whilst then getting up there once again to pick her up after the service…Newmarket is not exactly local for me (70 miles) and with work and family commitments time is on the tight side.

So I phoned Blackbear for a quote and to see if they can recommend a solution to my problem.

Blackbear - “no problem sir…We’ll pick her up for you before you go to work and drop her off a couple of days later before you go to work so you can take delivery”

Me – “How much for the collection and delivery?”

Blackbear – “included in the price sir so free of charge”

So they picked her up, serviced her and I then received a call from their customer service desk stating that the service was complete. They had fixed a couple of niggly issues that I had reported and noticed a couple of other issues (Front Bearings, Clutch Clip? & one other thing that I can’t remember) which they fixed under warranty so no charge.

Time to pay – Original quote was £604.73 inc VAT which I got before they offered to collect and deliver but I ended up paying £595.59 which was less than the original quote but I got more work done...That never normally happens to me

They dropped her off this morning exactly when they said they would…Rode into work this morning with a massive grin on my face as she is running really well.

Cracking customer service – If only all businesses were run like that.

Not the cheapest in the world but you get what you pay for.

Carlsberg don’t do Buell dealerships – but if they did they would be Blackbear.

Thx all at Blackbear  :yup:

Blackbear is highly recommended.

Neil

Nice one Neil ..... I'll be there on Saturday, and that will entail a 300 mile round trip - I won't be putting it in their van though, I enjoy the ride down too much 8-)

We have two specially equipped vans and two very experienced drivers, Derek and Lee, who will look after your motorcycle should you wish to make use of our collection and delivery service.

We heavily subsidise this service to help keep your costs down and our vans travel the whole country carrying out pick-ups and deliveries for customers who rely on Black Bear to maintain their motorcycles - we've even been spotted in Scotland! Talk to our service manager, George, for more information on 01638 664455 or email servicereception@blackbear.co.uk

Riders were offering a similar pick-up service earlier this year, but Blade are now closer to home and I did most of my own 15k, so no info here as to how the pick-ups went for customers. ;)
