Works great in my part of Texas. Leaving them in the sun on the driveway for an hour. Might be a little more difficult for you guys over there.posting.php?mode=quote&f=7&p=310934#

Yeah more likely in the garage being warmed by a fan heater at this time of year ha ha.

Great practical idea though Adam, Totally forgot about warming the rubber. Still recovering from over stretching my chest & stomach muscles with the rear tyre ha ha.

If you've used that much force to fit the tyre, I'd be a little concerned about the integrity of the bead cord. I've seen one rupture at Olivers Mount after two big blokes forced a 'wet' on with very big tyre levers. Generally, only one lever is needed for the final nip over the rim. Tie wraps or specialist plastic blocks are very useful for keeping the bead opposite to where you're working, in the well.

Thanks Adam,
I think it was more about my own physical fitness & strength rather than anything else to be honest. Although I do have a problem with a leak on the rim which is a really annoying, I took it to a garage to blow the tyre onto the rim & heard the beads ping but can't get rid of this little leak. Don't know if I scratched the inner rim with a lever or something. I may have to put some goop in it to seal it.
My garage is also full of stuff from my Father In Laws house so really awkward to work in with limited space at the moment which doesn't help much.

The anticipation.... like the tube of biscuits you try to open for breakfast. When's the fucker going to pop open? lOl

Ever seen what happens when you overinflate a lorry tire? Typically they run at 120 psi but you need about 150 to seat them. If you need more than that, the risk of it going KABOOM goes up quickly. Quite spectacular though, seeing a 275 lb tire and wheel assembly shoot in the air 50 ft.

Wait till you see a split ring go!
I remember (kin long time ago) inflating truck tyres without a cage....fuckin simple...simply place tyre that needs to be inflated against twin rear axle tyres (with valve facing inwards) crawl under truck and inflate from other side! ;)

Gave a young SAC Airman a task one day of changing tyres on this MFV fire Tender, explained to put wheel in cage and connect airline to cage air supply, I came back and could not see the young lad "YUP" he was in the cage with the wheel  I was too taken back to shout at him just had to explain things on a one to one basis in future.

They do make a hell of a bang when they go off

I’ve just followed the OP link and bought a pair - thought i’d just mention that up until midnight tonight the discount code: PURE20 will get you 20% off, so about £95 for the pair delivered (UK)

👍

They're working great on my 1125r, can't fault them handling wise. May have another pair as they're even more of a bargain now.
Thanks :yup:
