Hi all - I sold my X1 a few years ago and I guess I've always missed it...

Anyway I'm in the market for another one and a dealer local to me has this in stock:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-02-BUEL ... Sw1QpZ~JkS

I'm not sure but it looks expensive to me - does anyone have a view on what this is worth ?

I intend to have a walk down tomorrow and have a look at it. I've just sold my Road King so I have money burning a hole in my pocket but I don't want to necessarily pay over market price for one.

Obviously if any of you guys are looking to sell one (or a S1/S2) please message me.

Thanks in advance for your help!
Mike.

Thanks that's what I thought. I'll see what they say tomorrow - bike sales are slow at this time of year so they should be open to offers.

Looking at the pictures it doesn't look absolutely immaculate (I can't be sure) but it has low miles which has to be a positive.

I would had thought that £4.5k would be a pretty good price - is that fair?

bear in mind warranty,
BUT two X1 sold privately for £3300 to £3600 a peace last month.
Both with various levels of recorded history.
Also what exhaust system is fitted, £800 + to upgrade although existing system may be ok,
when was the oil pump drive inspected [preferably up graded]
front engine mount is it a billet or original cast item?
search recent X1 posts and you will find out the opinions on bringing them up to a high standard!

You've had some sound advice above, but the other side of the coin is, you have the dosh and probably enough to give it a good 10k miles 'seeing to'. Come the first dry road, you'll fall in love with it. It's value to you will out weigh the cost. It will be a keeper:D

There are two types of tube frame Buellers.
Those that own them and those that want one. ;)

Get it for less than £5k and keep it forever. :yup:

Thanks for all of your great advice - much appreciated !!

In the end I decided not but look at the dealer's X1 in the end, but the good news is that Steve (ursus americanus) contacted me via this site and I bought his sweet S2T. I'm very pleased and I can't wait to ride the beast !

Hi Steve - it was a real pleasure meeting you today - it was great meeting somebody with such an impressive first hand knowledge and experience of Buell motorcycles.
I promise to look after it and I won't get a flame-job respray and add leather tassels and forward foot pegs :)

Cheers all !
Mike.
