Thanks Ash! :yup:

So Chris, we ready to put something up for the Finnish forum?

We still have snow here, so no-one's riding yet. They should have time to think about it...

I've been 'off-line' for a few days and didn't realise this thread had gone a bit pear shaped :?...

Timo - yes please :yup:...

We're planning to be at the Arctic Circle (on the E6) on Saturday 21st May. Having a firm date to aim for will help in trying to arrange a Buell meet.

Some good info here.
http://www.mc-addict.com/budgettravelinnorway.htm

1st of May is an important date for bikers in Norway, they mark it as the first day of the riding season.
Everyone gets on there bike and congregate in all the big cities.
Shame you'll miss that though.
Watch out for snow as well there was plenty of that stuff around
hopefully it will have gone by the time you get up there.
Took this picture few weeks ago on the way to Bergen, just to get you in the mood.

We've now finalised our travel itinerary. If everything goes according to plan we will cover approximately 3,300 miles and visit 5 countries, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

We will unfurl our Buell banner at the Arctic Circle in Norway at midday on Saturday 21st May.

In terms of money raised this years UKBEG Buell Challenge won't be as successful as the 2009 and 2010 events, but between us we hope to raise around £500 for Em's Charity.

There was a discussion a few weeks ago regarding the funding of this event. We would like to make it clear, as with previous UKBEG Buell Challenges, we cover all our own costs. All sponsorship and donations we receive go to Em's Charity.

With regard to accommodation we've booked some great Hostels in Norway and Sweden - all at very reasonable prices. Our original plan was to book just one or two prior to setting off but the Hostels International web site and booking service is so detailed and easy to use that we've booked all but one night - 26th May in Germany on the return leg.

It's reassuring to know where we're staying each night, especially if it's been a long, hard days riding in poor weather. It's one less thing to worry about. Having said that, we still have flexibility with our travel plans. Because the HI booking system is linked all across Europe if we decide to use a different route 'en-route' we simply call ahead to make alternative arrangements.

It promises to be a great adventure :P ....

We now have pledges/donations totalling over £800 from work colleagues and friends. With an additional 25% Gift Aid we're confident that the total amount raised by this years UKBEG Buell Challenge will easily exceed £1,000.

To commemorate this years event we've had a few shirts made with this rather nifty design on the front :P....

As we're hoping to get some Norwegian Buell owners to come, we still have at least two Buells at the Arctic Circle Center. Is two enough to have the Most Northerly Buell Meet? :) Hopefully.

Here's my route on Google Maps.

I'll be joining Chris and Jane at Mosjoen, Norway (point B) at friday...

Fingers crossed for good weather. :D

I saw your bike, but couldn't find you.

Jane and Chris started at the Wittenzomer campground early this morning. Unfortunately it started raining again and temperatures dropped a bit, but they were wrapped in several layers of rain cloth, so they hopefully will finish the adventure's first leg dry and warm.

Have a nice trip and come back safe Image
