Following a suggestion by Martin (Conquistador) we've arranged a visit on Sunday 10th October to the new Lakeland Motor Museum, located near Newby Bridge, on the A590.

Meet at the museum between 10.30 and 11.00 am.

All makes of motorcycle are welcome - you don't have to arrive on a Buell.

Following a tour of the museum and lunch there will be a ride to Devils Bridge.

Museum details: here

Admission costs £7.00 for adults.

One of the new museums main attractions is the Campbell Bluebird Exhibition. It pays tribute to Sir Malcolm Campbell and son Donald, who between them captured 21 World land and water speed records. Highlights include full size detailed replica's of the 1935 Bluebird car, the 1939 Bluebird boat (K4) and the famous jet powered hydroplane, Bluebird K7, in which Donald Campbell was tragically killed on Coniston Water in 1967.

Will try and make this one Chris.
Not sure whether to stay somewhere though or just ride down and back up on the same day.

The one before or after that would have been ideal. Ah well, enjoy

Well, not on nights now for it but still a bit of doubt if I'll make it. Came off my pushbike on Friday and broke my hip joint. Home now but off for at least 3 months. If I can swing my leg over the bike in a month's time I'll be there ;)
