booked the 12-1 slot only problem is i dont own a printer and cant print my pass out. hopefully will be able to enter the page later in the week to print it off. It wont let you cut and paste it either.

Not had my email yet. Could you email the link to someone to print off for you?? You have just over a week to get it... Just an idea?

got my e mail for the time slot etc. now I can't get the pass , every time I click on the link it shuts down my IE :headbang:

Out of interest, what do you need a 'pass' for :?:

I have no idea. From what I've seen they are going to check your pass ONCE your inside and also to put you in your time slot waiting area. That's what I think there for could be wrong could be right. Usually wrong though.

no she's paying the petrol money to get rid of me for the day.

I've no idea what the pass is for ,originally it was to get onto the RAF base but as it's not there now who knows. Being married I just do as I'm told

Maz, don't read it then, go and be grumpy elsewhere. There's nothing to worry about in this section of the web site, it's correctly moderated.

88b - the pass is required to access the meeting point at Hullavington Airfield. Sorry you're having problems with their web site.

Reading through all the details I must say I'm impressed at the organisation involving the Police, AA and local council. They certainly have it all worked out.

We're looking forwards to this event, which will raise something in the region of £50,000 :P....

As far as I am aware, Hullavington is still a military base, although it is more or less decomissioned these days. There are still quite a few married quarters houses attached to the site, so I would imagine there is still some sort of military presence.

This whole thing has become very regimented, as in 'riders turning up at the gate without being registered will be escorted to a holding area and released at a later time', etc, etc.

There's nothing to stop people from riding the route without being registered, just don't try to access the base. They just won't get their official wristband and these sorts of things are important to some. Just like rally badges, I suppose.

To my mind, the most important thing is the donation to HFH, not being able to prove that "I was there".

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

— John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Any road up - for those of us who are still taking part in this event...

Room booked for Saturday night near Newbury - check

The weekend weather's looking rather fantastic - check

Passes and paperwork for assembly/meeting point - check

Guzzi's ready to roll - check

I'm not sure how practical it would be to meet up but if the chance arises our mobile number is 0792 626 5582.

We can't wait - for us, it's all about getting an official wristband and saying we woz there :P...

Well I will be going - do I qualify as the local representative?

The route takes you past the end of my road so you will probably see my wife and little un waving like mad!

Quote from my 8 year old "I'll be able to spot you cos you will be riding a black Buell" LOL

Well I'm due to arrive at Hullavington between 9 and 10 so if you want to chat I'm on the black 1125R with side panels - oh and red dveil horns and tail on me lid (thought the little might need a bit of help spotting me - honest!)

Oh and everyone I know in Wootton Bassett thinks its brilliant and are in full support!

Mark :yup:

Mark - I can spot a Buell at 50 paces and we're also booked 9 to 10 at Hullavington so you might get pestered by two little-uns from Yorkshire :P...

Mark, your last sentence has made my mind up, I was starting to think this ride had got out of hand and I was not going to go. I've also heard and read some negative stuff implying Wootton Bassett wasn't looking forward to this.

To those we will piss off by doing it, sorry, to the rest bring it on it's going to be quite a day!!!!!

The only (slightly) negative comments I have seen have been in the press - there's a surprise!

Have spoken to lots of shop owners and residents and they are all very positive - even had a 70 y/o granny ask if she could ride pillion! I think there will lots of people out on the streets (locals and loads of others) to see it. We are used to turning out for less positive things so this will be a brilliant change!
