We used one of these on the first stop of our Europe tour in 2008. It was very basic, but clean, convenient, and cheap. We also used Ibis and Novotel

You can cover big miles on the autoroutes, but boy is it boring... I use them for the dull bits & get onto minor routes for interesting bits. I always go OVER the Alps... Wakes me up & puts a smile on my face, ready for the next few hundred autoroute clicks... ;-) I find singing helps when sitting in the fast lane, but by that point I've been on the road for hours... :shock: Formule Une have showers that you share with everyone else, but they're clean & you can't knock the price. A warm bath is fantastic after a long day & worth the extra IMO...
