Went last year and was surprised by the number of people there.

Hopefully the weather is better than it is at the moment.

Any UKBEG planning to go?

Hopefully Pash will put up some pictures. 4 Buells there me, Pash, Onanist and some fella all in camoflage gear With reg BU 90 ELL on a 12SX any one from here?
Spoke to several people who had recently bought Buells (both Ulys) since the closure plus one guy with an S1 he had for over 10 years. You meet the nicest people when you ride a Buell. Oh wait a minute thats the Honda slogan.

Wicked event. Four Buells there, Oanist, Daywalker, myself and Rambo (not sure if he is on the forum, just guessing at his handle - see the pics)...

There were loads of classic bikes, I think the Buells were only outnumbered by Vincents. I don't know much about these bikes, but there were a couple of V twins, and a V twin with no rear cylinder, I guess their equivalent of a Blast... Also, a Cortina with some slip on cans...

Legend has it that some drawings on tracing paper were thrown down on a desk by Howard Robert Davies and one landed on top of another. HRD then saw the possibility of placing one cylinder behnd the other and this became the series 'A' ('Plunbers Nightmare' :D ) twin. With the sebsequent redesigns, through to the superb series 'D', the single cylinder models also evolved into the Meteor/Comet. These were capable bikes, as good as anything from Plumstead, Birmingham or Bracebridge but very overshadowed by their big brothers.
A favourite tuning trick was to use a Comet head on the rear cylinder of the big twins (as I had on mine). I think this was standard on the later Black Lightnings.

What a great meet
There was a terrific range of machinery there, most impressive, even that Cortina !

There was a lot of interest in the Buells today. Just as i was coming away a guy, Guzzi mounted, came over and expressed his disbelief at the shut down and said his New Years resolution was going to be a purchase of a Lightning Long. Good stuff.

Real good to see Mr & Mrs Brizzle ;)
the S1's a beeeyoooty
