Continuing our series of popular 'bikes & food' Buell meets/rides - a tour of the Yorkshire Dales ending up in Kirkby Stephen (Cumbria) for fish & chips....

This event comes with a 'weather permitting' clause.

Meet at 10.00 to 10.30 am at the Little Chef, Newby.

This Little Chef is located on the A65 between Settle and Ingleton. It's 2 miles outside Ingleton, heading northbound it's on your right, heading southbound it's on your left.

From the Little Chef we will head to Ingleton and turn onto the B6255 which takes us to Hawes. From there we take the minor road over Buttertubs Pass to Thwaite, were we pick up the B6270 to Kirkby Stephen, for some extremely tasty fish & chips.

Once we're fed and watered we will return via the B6270, which us takes straight through to Richmond, for tea/coffee.

Ingleton to Hawes = approx. 20 miles.
Hawes to Kirkby Stephen = approx. 16 miles.
Kirkby Stephen to Richmond = approx. 30 miles.

If any of our Notts or Lincs based friends would like to come along we could arrange to meet at Squires Cafe at 8.00 to 8.30 am and travel to the Little Chef via the A1/A661/A59/A65.

Squires Cafe to the Little Chef, Newby = approx. 60 miles.

Is this one still on CJ?????

Still a mixed forecast for Sunday but we'll be at Squires for 8.00 to 8.30 am and then onto the Little Chef near Ingleton for 10.00 to 10.30 am, all as originally planned.

It's five days since I rode a bike and I'm having withdrawal symptons :)...

Back to cleaning the crap off them from the Buell Challenge.....

Chris, really sorry, can't do this one now, we have family round tomorrow. I'm really gutted, I hope you, Jane and who ever else turns up enjoys some of the best biking roads around the area. Phil.

Where is Squires Cafe?

We could do with some links for popular meeting places...

Sorry you can't make it guys.

In terms of numbers this might not be the most successful run/meet that we've held but we intend to enjoy it :)..

A good day out which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks to everyone who attended.

Our small but perfectly formed group consisted of: Terry - Buell XB12X, Rick and Claire - Buell XB12XT, Phil - Kawasaki GTR1400 plus Jane and I on our Guzzi V1100.

The weather wasn't as bad as forecast with only a few light showers to blight our progress around the Yorkshire Dales and a small part of Cumbria. We had a great ride on some stunning roads - which were pretty much traffic free.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch break in Kirkby Stephen and then nicely rounded off the afternoon with sticky buns in Richmond, courtesy of Claire.

Thank you again CJ for organizing yet another great ride out. Its a shame more couldnt make it seeing as the weather was kind really and they missed out on some fantastic scenery and exhilerating roads :D :D So what's next? ;)

In Digger's absence we had to provide a digger eye view of Richmond

Despite a prevoius sighting of the lesser spotted CJ wallet last week it remained firmly in its lair. CJ took the drinks order and then tried to pretend he couldnt find the service hatch

"Im sure I asked for sugar in yours" says CJ "Well at least the thought was there"
