Looks like I'm going cycling instead, in aid of Alzheimers. Enjoy your jaunt.

Sorry, guys. Have been giving this a lot of soul searching but have regretfully decided to pull out of this event. I have always made a habit of riding stupid distances in a short period of time but have decided that 1700 miles in four days at the end of March is a few steps too far at the moment. I will build back up to it in time but not right now.

I have cancelled my booking at Spean Bridge so, if anyone else is tempted, there is a single room available right now.

Good luck to all those who take part.

Steve

They’re predicting a white Easter up here ;) That could be tricky.

I'm keeping an eye on the weather forecast using Scotland's greatest amateur weather man, Windy Wilson :D Available on the hated FB and Twitter.

I've spoken to Spean Bridge Hotel and they have a 48hr pre to arrival cancellation with no cost. If there is going to be snow on the roads I'll pulling out. I know, wimp etc. I no longer do snow and ice, especially on the SX.

Hopefully all will be well and I'll see you all at the Forth Road/Rail Bridge. Any idea what time you're expecting to be there...ish?

Clive,

Spotted this on the website linked from CJs posts (http://www.ukbuellgroup.co.uk/)

Website last updated 27th March 2018.

We've cancelled most of the events that we had planned for this year.

Em's Day on the 28th May and the EBR Day on the 15th July are still going ahead. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Bummer - that's me lost £82 if it's cancelled.

Can anyone else confirm it's defo cancelled?

I've not had a response from PM. Anyone got any info?

Thanks.

Ok - is anyone else doing this? If you are, when do you think you'll get to the Forth Rail Bridge/South Queensferry?

If I get no response from anyone I intend to be there at 1000hrs. I'll take some photos and then set off for Spean Bridge - I intend to go via the Commando Memorial to tip my hat and get some photos.

Depending on time I might blast up to Skye. If I'm pushed for time I'll do it Saturday morning as originally planned by CJ. If there's more than just me I'll go with the original plan.

That’s the SX dragged out and prepped for tomorrow’s run out to Spean Bridge :yup:

This will be the first decent run since fitting the APH can - it really does sound mega. Can’t wait to open it up going through the glen :D

Fingers crossed for dry weather :worthy:

It’s cold, wet, windy and generally not biking weather out there. So I’ve decided to pull the pin. Feel like a bit of a fanny but I was Billy no mates anyway and I was looking forward to being with other Buellers.

An eighty quid loss decision but 300+ miles in this to sit in the bar on my own all night wasn’t an attractive thought. I will defo do it later in the year at least up to Spean Bridge to get some photos at the Cdo Memorial that will be good enough for next years calendar

Good luck to anyone else doing it, wrap up warm.

Bugger
