Well, I went the entire weekend without seeing Chris or Jane, but I did manage to have a chat with Barney on Saturday . While some may say that is a recipe for success, I'm sorry I never ran into you two.

Sunday was fantastic for me. I won a 90 minute test ride on the new MGX-21, over all types of roads and speeds. The traction control is great as is the ride by wire throttle. I normally shy away from forward controls but these were mild and it fit me just fine. I felt like Batman , well...at least Lego Batman on my carbon fiber Bat Cycle.

I then rode a Stornello, a Stelvio, an El Dorado and last but not least a Griso se. If the MGX was Batmans bike, the Griso belongs to Wolverine, so eager, so powerful, so intuitive. That bike just whispers to you "Let's get into trouble" or maybe it's the inner 17 year old inside all bikers heads, either way I loved it the mostest. The Stornello was a close second, that lightweight v7II in scrambler form, felt like a real hooligan, perfect for storming B roads and the inner city. I jumped a couple of speed bumps and felt like Steve McQueen.

Back on my Triumph Sprint ST and rolled to Stuttgart where I just arrived.

Great trip and next time I'll make more of an effort to have a few beers with ya

I love the Griso, but I don't think that I could live with a 90 mile tank range. Shame.
Did you bump into my friend Serena?

Joe, what do they say about the best laid plans? At least you got to say hello to Barney. He's become quite a celebrity on this trip. This afternoon at a petrol station in southern Switzerland we met 3 guys from China who'd also been at the event in Mandello. It turned out that one of them owns a Breva 750 back home in Beijing. He spoke good English so Jane had a long conversation with him. He was very taken with Barney and couldn't believe he'd covered so many miles - 112,020 to date. He took lots of pictures and a video of him running. Jane and Barney have probably gone viral in China by now :hehe: ......

Glad you enjoyed your Guzzi test-ride fest yesterday. We've enjoyed another glorious days riding and we're now in southern Germany. This trip, which is our 5th to Mandello, has to be the best so far.

Some of today's highlights included lake hopping in Italy and exploring Switzerland.

Mick, we saw Serena but didn't get to talk to her.

Back home safe this morning after another memorable two-wheeled adventure. Total of 1,556 miles covered and both bikes (Breva 1100 & 750) ran faultlessly. Yesterday's 450 mile ride up through Germany was sweltering, especially in the afternoon with temperatures of 34 degrees C. It's a good job our cylinders were stuck out in the breeze :P .....

It has been one of our best trips to Mandello. We have so many good memories, met loads of Moto Guzzi enthusiasts from all the over the world and ridden some brilliant roads.

Final picture from the trip, taken yesterday afternoon at our last stop before arriving at Europort Rotterdam. It had cooled down to just 33 degrees C as we approached the coast :D .....
