UKBEG members may be interested in the Carole Nash Winter Classic Show which is being held at the Newark Showground, over the weekend of Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th January.

Guest of Honour: John Reynolds

Event & location details: here

A few of us went to this show last January and we thought it was an excellent way to start the year. It wasn't as crowded as the Carole Nash Bristol and Stafford shows and there's a good selection of custom and classic machinery on display, in addition to a healthy mix of trade stalls, club stands, dealers and autojumble plots.

We're going to enquire about having a small stand at this show to promote UKBEG and its events. We'll let you know ASAP if we've been successful with our application. If we're not successful at the very least it will be an ideal opportunity for an informal meet on one of the days.

Ideas in action

The show organisers have got back to me late this afternoon and they would love to have UKBEG and Buell motorcycles at the show. The stand space would be free of charge and we can get 20% discount on normal admission prices.

I'm sorry about the short notice but if you would like to display your Buell on the stand please let me know ASAP. They need the information in a bit of a rush because they're going to press in the near future with the show guide and would like to list the bikes on each club stand.

I thought perhaps 3 or 4 bikes would be the ideal number, representing tubers, XB's and 1125's, but it's not critical. We'll be taking our Ulysses and we will also provide some basic refreshments for UKBEG members.

Thanks for the response :worthy: - I'll book stand space for up to 6 bikes and then we're covered for any additional entries.

The show organisers need full names to go with the display bikes in the show guide so please confirm your surnames to make sure I've got the spelling right.

XB12X Ulysses - Chris Jessop
1125CR - Kev
X1 - Claire & Rick
X1 Willyworks Special - William

We're all booked in now with the show organisers and we've been allocated an indoor stand with space for 6 Buells, 4 of which are already taken. If you would like one of the 2 remaining display places please let me know ASAP.

We still have a few Buell spares and bits-n-bobs tucked away in a large box so we'll make a stock list and post details within this topic during the Christmas holiday period. We'll take everything to the Newark show to sell on the UKBEG stand, on a 'no reasonable offer refused' basis. All proceeds will go to Em's Charity.

I'll post further details in due course.
