You're welcome, looking forwards to meeting up :yup:....

In addition to the main feature of 3 Avro Lancasters :P there'll be lots of other things happening on the day, details of which are still to be announced. Unsurprisingly there's been a mad rush for accommodation in the East Kirkby area but we've managed to book Monday night, 1st Sept., at the Barn Croft B&B in Mareham-le-fen, just 3 miles up the road from the Aviation Centre.

If LAHC do manage to release additional tickets for this event before we go on holiday on the 4th July I'll put the news up on here straight away.

LAHC have confirmed that they won't be able to offer additional tickets so this event is now officially sold out.

All 5,000 tickets were sold in record time making it their most successful event ever. I believe there's only us two and 'BlackBuell09' from UKBEG that have managed to book tickets.

Was looking forward to this, but took my eye off the ball and probably like others here got caught out :sad1:

Will try and make one of the other events where the two airworthy Lancs will be.

Info HERE

Jackie - that's good news, see you there :yup:....

Our tickets arrived last week so we're good to go. I'm not sure if it's worth having the dedicated parking area near the control tower for UKBEG motorcycles because there may only be 2 or 3. I'll see what LAHC advise nearer the time.

Dave, thanks for the notice, we're going for second helpings :P...

We've also booked tickets for the Sunday 7th September event so if any UKBEG members are able to attend on that day we may be able to have a dedicated parking area for our motorcycles.

Weather's looking good for Tuesday's event, let's hope they get the Canadian Lancaster running on all four engines again....

3 Lancasters 02 09 2014 UPDATE Canadian Warplane Heritage-

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and understanding as we continue our engine repairs. A special thanks is extended to both Andrew Panton and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight who immediately offered us loaner engines! Our plan is to remove the No. 4 engine today. For logistical reasons, we will be installing the BBMF engine which is is expected to arrive in Durham Tees later today. Assistance with the conversion is also being provided by Retro Track & Air (UK) Ltd. We are putting forth a maximum effort to make the SOLD OUT event of 3 Lancs on Tuesday at East Kirkby.

Even with the use of a loaner engine, we have incurred significant costs to swap out the engine plus facilitate the repairs to our engine, which will need to be ready for the end of September for our return to Canada. Donations to HELP KEEP THE LANCASTER FLYING can be made here: http://www.warplane.com/about-cwhm/dona ... sform.aspx.

Bum  .... tomorrow's flying is cancelled, hopefully they can get things sorted for Sunday's event.

We are very sorry to say that we have just been contacted by the Canadian Warplane Heritage and the BBMF with the sad news that they have had to cancel the fly-past’s on the 2nd September due to the engine problems with FM213 Vera.

The Centre will still be open and the ground activities will still be on. Your admission tickets will still be honoured on the 2nd September 2014 and we will be trying our best to arrange another date for the event.

The Lincs Aviation Heritage Centre is very sad to offer this news but there is sadly nothing we can do as the cancellation is due to aircraft serviceability.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage web site states the following:

"While work on replacing the Lancaster engine is progressing at a steady pace, regrettably, we are not going to be safely ready in time to attend the 3 Lancaster event at East Kirkby on Tuesday.
We are completing the final fittings on the new engine today, along with the team from Retro. Additional parts from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight are arriving from Coningsby today, then the engine will be hung. If all is good, an engine test run will be performed. After successfully testing the engine, a test flight will be conducted and then onto Coningsby."

Crossed fingers for the 7th.

Butch wouldn't have stood for this! He'd have given 24 hours tops.

I think one of the Lancs and the Vulcan flew over Louth today ................... I'd been on nights and the noise woke me up but not quick enough for me to get out of bed and have a look lOl we then had a spitfire doing a bit of a display over the town just before 4pm 8-)
