Im mick Buyers had a ully for 3years and 20,000 miles, still like the bike even though i have suffered the usual problems, wheel bearings gone, ist time dealer swapped the bearings and I think they must have only done the defective brake side because I had the drive side break up at 19000 on the motorway, as I slowed down the cage had cracked up and loosing speed allowed the balls to spit out! managed to limp to safety but the weird side thrust locked the belt tentioner wheel and its rubbed a flat spot on the wheel. Belt snapped at 15,000miles but that did not supprise me, I have had them go at similar millage on two harleys too, I ride all year and think the salt christals get into the cracks and chafe the belts.
Oh and my fan is starting to get noisy, everything else has been as good as gold, and I am fairly hard on my bikes, clean oil and filters and then get used like most people would use a car, as transport.
Im nearly 50, grey and portly 3 kids, mortgage, overdraft and fighting back.
Thats me in a nut shell.

Evenin' Mike,
You may have something about salt damage. If a climbing rope gets wet with sea water (very common with sea cliff climbing) you must rinse them thoroughly lots of times in fresh water. If not, the salt crystals cut the rope fibres and test have shown upto 60% loss in dynamic strength  Not good :D

Hi Mike,

Also own a Uly, only had it a couple of weeks but I love it. I have a couple of other bikes but the Uly is definately the most fun. Not the fastest but I enjoy it most!

Hi Mike

I'm 'pushing' fifty and like Ulys but ride a S1. I avoid fluorescent lighting as it shows the grey hair and wrinkles. Also, turning into a chubster. Am considering using viagra - if only to stop me falling outa bed. Clutch cable broke today

Thats me in a nutshell  ;)
