Hi, I'm Tony from York. Have just joined the site to see if there are any other Buellers in the area. I also have just had the rear bearing go on my XB12stt and wondered if anybody else has had the same problem, the bike is on a January 07 plate and has only don 5,500 approx. If any body has any suggestions I would gladly appreciate the advice. Hope this message is in the right place, who knows.

5.5k miles - they've lasted well (seriously ;) )
Suggestion; replace them and tighten the spindle precisely as Buell suggest, or your next set of bearings are toast because you've ruined the spacer in the wheel :?

Welcome mate.
That's normally about all they last. Shit design tbh. Some people change the bearings every time they change the Tyre's.
Check out the how to section for removing the wheels it will tell you the correct torque settings for the wheel spindle. Too tight and you will probably wreck the bearing.

Welcome.

Change the bearings (front and rear) with every tyre change, as above 5K is great mileage from them.
