Hello fellow Buell owners/enthusiasts,

I bought my first Buell yesterday its a '07 XB12X Ulysses in Orange.

Didn't really know much about these bikes until a few months back when I seen for sale on-line one and then decided I wanted one as my next bike.
Anyway so here I am, my name is Jason, I'm in Bridgend, South Wales and currently don't know anyone else owning a Buell of any description locally so maybe will meet a few threw the forum.

Been reading through some of the technical posts already and I believe that I may already be needing to have a look at my TPS set-up as the bike though it seemed to run pretty good on its 150mile trip home yesterday, it did miss a bit around 3000rpm when sat steadily at about 70mph on the motorway, also the cooling fan seems to be running a lot after pretty easy going riding. Needless to say, I put these little things down to charcter of the bike-perhaps I'm wrong. Previous owner did have a Quill exhaust system(removed and standard item re-fitted before sale) Quill now in box(probably staying there too). He has also modded the Air Box with additional holes plus re-routing the rocker cover breather, need to understand whether this mod is worthwhile, on this bike as it appears that there is a lot of hot air in that area??

Anyway, looking forward to a long relationship with my new bike(I mangaed 12 years on my Gilera RC600 / Nordwest, so lets try and beat that).

Jason

Hi V-spot

I have a S1 but want a Uly as well. I recommend you travel to some of the Buell get togethers and maybe do a Buell experience track half-day.

As the only Bueller in your village, this must be you :twisted:

The power Characteristics of the Gilera is a world away from that of a Buell.
How are you getting on with the change?

So which one did you have, the RC or the NW? I've still got my NW after 13 years of ownership. They feel like riding a two stroke compared to the Buell ;)

Thorkill the Tall;
I got the RC600 '95 model, same panel work as NW, but with 21" front wheel etc etc.
As you said, completely different riding experince, only done about 160 miles on Uly coming back from Torquay so not had a real feel for it as it was mainly motorway.

Maz;
As for this Sunday, I'm tied to the house as my wife is due for our 2nd baby in the next few days(hence time to buy a new bike), I may take a run out locally if weather is forgiving though, not keen on wet till I get a proper feel for it on the twisty's.

Cheers for the Welcomes Guy's.
