Hi I have lurked here for quite a while now, and have nearly bought a buell but always never bitten the bullet and bought a monster 1200 and then a Bow Urban Gs r nine. I am now going to look at 2 bells in the next couple of days. One is a X1 Millennium at £6k and the other an S1 in nuclear orange at £7500.
For all intents and purposes are there many differences? I appreciate the wheels etc. My heart is saying the nuclear orange one as that was always the one 20 odd years ago i lusted after but the X1 seems a great buy.
Many thanks for any advice.

I`m selling a tatty , lowmileage s1 and to get it to good condition would cost £2k extra.

If it`s the orange one on ebay , it could do with a shock and front disc £1k ish.

If you are after an X1 in white and blue there`s a woman I know that`s thinking of selling hers , based on Isle Of Wight.

If you are spending a lot of money on one, keep it .

One is never enough.

Thanks very much, it is the orange one but he isn’t budging on price states the X1 and S1 are completely different bikes and his is £1500 more than the X1.
Be interested to know more about yours and the white one.
Thanks for the reply

For that money they will have to be dead right and totally, perfectly sorted out. If you know they are, then fine. If not buy one that is or buy one and make it right. These bikes are money pits to get right. Once they are right, it's fine. Caveat Emptor absolutely applies here in spades. Main thing, you must know what you are buying and there's tons of advice here. (I'd hate to think of anyone paying GBP 7500 and then finding out it'll take another GBP 3000 to get it right.)

I've recently sold an S1 (98) and and X1 (02), both in full working order, good condition, for 4k pounds each. Those prices you mention sound ridiculously high :o

Asking and getting are not the same though. It may be a very long time he has to wait to get £7.5k. Eventually, I guess he will. It's very possible to throw £7.5k at one of these bikes, after all.

If you spend a lot of money on any bike then never use it , thinking you`ll devalue it by putting miles on it , then it`s a bad investment.
I`ve had a 1949 series one landrover for 42ish years and that has appreciated about £200 a year lOl

it has been up for 3 months as i have been watching it, he is adamant that he will not drop the price, i know whatever i buy i will probably need to throw some cash at it, so don't want to start at the top end knowing i need to do that, if he had been a little amenable on price i would have bought it.
