Hi there folks,

I'm Chris, and I have a taste for the unusual. I've had Japanese bikes but they don't interest me much, and I've always had a Moto Guzzi of some sort in the garage.

Well, my second Benelli Tornado has died and I'm in the market for another sportbike. My attention has turned to the Buell 1125R. I'm not after outright power, I want character and class, and have always loved the feel of a V-twin over everything else.

I currently have a Zontes 125 for commuting, a Moto Guzzi Griso 1100 and a Yamaha R6 trackbike (aka random sportsbike #116!). I'll take a look around the forum, gather what information I can, and may be back with some stupid questions if there's anything else I need to know.

Ride safe folks,

Chris.

Welcome.

You may find an 1125R a little bit erm perkier than your guzzi. It's not your typical relaxed V twin.
It's a bit of an animal to quote a well known advert :run:

I'm fine with animals, I take an R6 on track ;) And the power is part of why I want one, the Guzzi keeps up with my mates but you gotta work her hard.

She got me a 1m 59 at Cadwell though...

Welcome Chris, it was me who you were talking to at Cadwell a couple of weeks back at the track day. You should've had a go on the 1125 my wife Paula was riding. I've recently bought her a Gixxer 600 that I've been converting for her.
Anything you need to know, just ask :yup:

If I'd have known a ride on the Black Beauty was on offer, I'd have definitely taken you up on the offer!

Maybe I'll be riding one of my own soon. Its funny, there's just been a Buell and Italian bike show on Sunday. If I'd known, I'd have been up there but I only spotted it on the Benelli forum yesterday.

1125's are great bikes, most people are put off by the looks which makes them a bargain, if you have cash put in some low offers, many bike shops have them at prices they have no hope of selling at

Welcome to UKBEG, Chris, we can't help you with specific questions about the 1125 but we have more than just a passing interest in all things Buell and Moto Guzzi :P...

It's a shame you missed our Buell and Italian event last Sunday at East Kirkby but keep checking the Events & Rides section, we hope to confirm the date for 'Em's Day 2017' before the end of November.

It is with a heavy heart that I report that I bought a Triumph 955i instead of a Buell. I remain interested in Buells however, and I look forward to seeing some of you folks out and about!

Not a bad decision all things considered.

The Trumpet is an excellent bike, Mojomick of the Parish has one and they go remarkably well 8-)
Anyway, just because you've bought a bike with too many cylinders doesn't mean you can't stick around here. You'll eventually weaken, and buy a Buell lOl
