Greetings,

I have been looking at changing my ZX6R P7F for a Buell as i have fell in love with the styling.

I plan to do some touring and general short rides.

What do you all recommend.

Cheers Dave!

Welcome :yup:
They are all great bikes if YOU like them. Which style do you like , you can tour on any of them but the Uly is best suited for that.

The one i like the most has to be the 1125R but i have never rode one. I used to have a Aprilia Falco what i loved but sold it for the Ninja what i hate. I just cant get used to the inline 4 am a v-twin man.

The Falco was a very underrated bike. If you liked that, you'll love an 1125R.
Welcome to the club. :sun:

I first arrived in Buelldom via ZX6, as did Norm. Chalk and cheese! My choice of Buell was an M2, followed by another M2!

Hi Dave!

Based on those requirements, I'd recommend two Buells!

Uly is proabably the best "strap the luggage on and head off around Europe" option. Short rides (early Sunday morning blasts?) is the 1125 or the S1 depending on your preference.

Your biggest problem is that the Falco (never under-rated by me) was pretty damn good at both. A completely compentent bike and (in my view) up there with the Honda VFR series as one of the very best all-rounders ever made.

The problem is that an all-rounder is not likely to "stir your soul" (although the Falco gets closer than a VFR). Any bike can be made to do pretty much anything: an 1125 can be toured on, a uly can be made to hustle, etc.

If we all just bought bikes with our heads rather than our hearts, we'd all ride VFRs. No one buys a Buell as a "sensible / mainstream" choice, so go with the one that stirs your soul the most and enjoy it.

Dave
