You're no fun - it's not UKBEG, without a monthly Tubers v's Fuellers battle. Kinda like Brighton with the rockers and the Mods :)

I've never ridden a Tuber, soon young grass hopper, soon - but I've owned a 9 and a 12 plus ridden an EBR.

They are all great in different ways. The 9 and 12 handle brilliantly but the engines are a wee bit old and the switch gear is archaic. They are also described as 'Bic' bikes by some as gearbox issue are so expensive to fix you may as well throw them away ;) When folk buy these they buy with they're hearts.

I rode the 12 and the EBR back to back on Saturday and had a Hoofin time for different reasons on each bike. The EBR is more modern, a new Fueller if you like, the engine is amazing and makes you grin like a mad thing! Got off that and got on to the 12, it was slower but handled like a dream, thought controlled. Brilliant.

Not ridden a Tuber yet. But I'm sure that's gonna be great too.

I suspect it'll come down to funds and what your heart tells you. No matter which one you choose, you're gonna love it. Good luck :D

Ha, oops, scarred... But maybe scared too

Great comments, I'm willing to take the risk, I've heard about the gearbox issues, any particular tell tales when viewing to one on its way out?

And someone please put me out of my misery in regards to what I should spend, ebay seems to be littered with prices across the spectrum.

I will put my cards on the table - I am looking for £4500 for my 17,000 miles, 2007 XB12Scg, which we have owned since new and has had a fair bit of work done - mainly by Maz. Advert will be on the forum in the next few days, once I have put the list together. I will probably not put it on E-Bay, as I would rather it goes to a Beulligan...even if they speak German!

Unfortunately, not quite what I'm after, but a useful guide and looking through old sale threads on here, it seems stunning examples 4-5, and a risky option at about £3k is the ballpark figure.

Nay young Jedi - to be replaced by an EBR 1190SX, which will join the X1, which has been Maz loved ;)
