Hi, so I have a one in one out policy, and currently all my vehicles are far too slow!

I shifted one this week so am ready to replace with a buell. Have always wanted a lightning.

Either an s1 or an X1, but it's slim pickings where I live and unfortunately missed a lovely X1 recently.
I have however spotted an xb9s. Did want a 12, but I think a 9 will satisfy my cravings for now.

It's an black 04 plate with about 6000 on clock, but cosmetically a bit rough, a bit of paint bubbling on subframe and brackets, aluminum oxidizing, tyres cracking, but I love it, and want a bit of a project.

It's not for sale per say, but the owner has asked me to make an offer. Due to some high asking prices on ebay for some immaculate examples I think he may be a little optimistic about my offer. Can anyone offer any advice on its value so I don't offend?

Many thanks

Hi Dave, and welcome.
Post some pics and I'm sure all its faults will be eagerly pointed out to you by those in the know...

My advice would be forget the XB and go back to looking for a tuber, you'll be glad you did in the long run

Just missed out on a tubular 1200 unfortuneatly, and there's not many around my way.

What's the main reasons for staying tubular, is it to do with the injection system?

And if I stay with a 9s what should I look out for and expect to pay. I know who works on it and it is apparently mechanically trouble free to date... Which is rare I believe!

Ok. The 'new' fuellers are the best - the SX in particular. Discuss...

Right, well let's not upset everyone within 12 hours of joining the forum, I'm not looking to troll!

I'll save the questions for private chat, but presume it comes down to personal preference/ experience.

That said would be great to know what region of cash I should be parting with for an XB9s/mechanically sound but cosmetically a little scared... As that is probably what I'll be looking for.

I've also put up a wanted thread to see what is out there.

Many thanks for all your responses so far and sorry to prematurely end your popcorn session!
