The tyre experience was not supposed to shock but simply report events which surprised me and I do see it as a rare occurance as this is the first time in over 30 years of riding on public roads I have experienced a severe tyre failure. I think we all know the position of anyone on 2 wheels which is why I always stop to offer assistance what ever I am riding/driving.

I did send a PM to Spartan along similar lines

I'm new here myself, so welcome from me
Liking the red, but i went for white
I got an 1125r 2009 about 4 weeks back with 4600 miles
The only thing I can offer by way of advice is to fit the 'Oil Jetted' rotor ASAP
Ive just done mine and the insulation had started to fail on the Stator windings, so I've had to change that as well.
I'm seeing Improved idle voltage over prior readings i thought were good at 13.7v
Now 14.1v and i had no prior indication that things had slowly started moving towards a fail state.
Fit it and forget it!
What a great bike to ride. Im off to Italy Thursday with a couple of mates
Happy days fella

No although that was one I considered but it was a little bit expensive at the time. I know for a fact that someone traded in that bike for a CR that they had. The fasttrack bike had full length faring at the sides and had done about 10,000, with service record of the rotor modification I am led to believe. I got mine from Lincoln HD and so far feel I have got a good deal as they gave a decent warranty which i hope will be some safeguard against some of the known problems. But with all things mechanical you can guarantee things will not always be straightforward.
