Just recently purchased a 59 plate 1125R :D . Great bike but doesn't like being ridden slowly! I had a quote from a Harley dealer for a service...........£350  ...anyone think that is reasonable?

Its not a bike for riding slowly on, get a Harley for that :D £350 for a service depends on what they expect to do for that. These are pretty high maintenance bikes and £350 probably won't cover what may be needed depending on mileage. Budget for wheel bearings etc. Black Bear in Newmarket know these bikes well if you are going down the Harley dealer route. Most other dealers don't really want to touch them (or really know how to) :old:

Welcome , I am in a similar position and still learning about the bike. Great fun to ride and quite managable below the national speed limit surprisingly. Many of the roads and dual carrageways near me are 50 limits and it is no more frustrating than being on/in any other vehicle.

Not able to comment on service costs yet but sure there are people on here who can.

Enjoy

Sure you will :D

Welcome

£350 is a lot of money for an oil and filter service (IMO) but dirt cheap if it's the 12,000 mile service (but if it is for that they will not do it properly)

Personally I wouldn't let any harley dealer (other than BB) touch my bike and would rather give it to an Aprillia dealer for engine work - but your best bet is to get advice from here and to speak to Maz.

Stage 1 tune / play with ECM will sort low rev fuelling - thanks to the guys on here mine pulls cleanly from 2500 (not that I ride like that).

Thanks for the feedback. The bike has only done 4200 miles and has full service history (had annual service since new). I'm based in Hampshire. Does anybody now if there a ride out in the area at some point in the near future?

Hawk 13 - not sure how to do 'Stage 1 tune / play with ECM will sort low rev fuelling' although mine is good at 2500rpm. Who would be able to do that? Doesn't cause too much of a problem other than when in traffic but i try and keep to the open roads as the bike is for fun not commuting.

Pop up to Jacks hill cafe on Sunday; it's not so far from Hampshire and you'll meet a few there. Me and Bruno are going from down south.
