Hi Guys, I'm new to the site. I'm bike nuts. Been riding since I was a kid. Qualified as a Tech at 19 and worked for Harley Davidson & Buell. Passed my test 7 years ago at 18, since then I've had a CBR400RR, Z750, RSV1000R and a Z1000. NO Buell!?!?! I hear you say! When I worked on Buells I hated them. I hated the rusty exhausts, the crap sensors, the melted clutch cables on the exhaust, the cracks in the rear disc, the easy break plastics, the difficult to come off wheels, the undergreased pully adjuster, I hated the way the oil pours over the exhaust when you take the plug out, and I hated how nuts and bolts wouldn't come out because you have to use SO much locktight to keep them on. But as the years have gone on, and I've had more bikes, ridden more bikes, I realised I missed all the good bits. The brilliant low down punch that spits the front wheel up when you give it welly, the incredible bite to the brakes, the easy flick from side to side, going from 1 knee to the other. Nothing else compares. Its a riders dream, a mechanics nightmare. I realise, I wouldn't mind all these we niggles if its just on 1 bike, at least I'm not seeing hundreds of them anymore. I can put up with all the wee things for the ultimate riders machine. So now I have my heart set on one, xb12r. A xb9r will do. Just who the hecks got one to sell these days?! They are so hard to find! So thats why I have joined the site. Also for support and to support when I get one.

Thanks guys. I worked for West coast in Glasgow as Junior Tech. I was least experienced of the group there. Head Tech Stewart is a cracking mechanic, if any of you guys are up in Glasgow and need your bike looking at. I've asked the guys their to look out for any trade in's for me.

Welcome, I hope you get the bike that you are after soon. Both of our XB's came from West Coast...they sure know how to squeeze a Remus up there! :headbang:
