Hi, I've been a Harley rider for a long time and decided I wanted something a bit sportier without going ninja. I've got an option for a really good price on an 1125R that hasn't turned a wheel in about 3 years. Obviously, it's going to need fluid changes, battery, maybe some seals. My only concern is how supportable is the bike in terms of getting spares/services done. I've pretty much made up my mind to go ahead. I just want to know how much time I'm going to spend googling parts or fabricating stuff (like I've got that capability/expertise!). I'm in the forces overseas but we do have a Harley dealer in the country. Do they still have access to Buell parts? Any advice would be welcome.

Parts are still available through the H-D network and your local dealer should be able to get them. Parts prices for many items are climbing but there is also an aftermarket which will supply some key parts. Key players are Erik Buell Racing and Twin Motorcycles.

If you have any trouble sourcing parts out there call or email my guys at Black Bear.

email parts@blackbear.co.uk

Welcome. The sidestand does an admirable job of supporting the Buell in a very simple manner. Just don't walk away from it if the engine is running!

Have a word with the dealership in Muscat. A good mate of mine, Pete Grimshaw, is there. He was Dealer Principal at Eddy's in Leeds and then Manchester Harley-Davidson where he was very supportive of Buells. He's sure to help you out, tell him I sent you :yup:

Thanks guys, I know Pete pretty well. I was the HOG Director when he arrived. I'll have a chat with him when he gets back from the UK.
