Well couple more days and we have air-intake fitted.
I've used stock PVC pipe as base - looks good to me ;)

As I am going to use it as commuter I was thinking about crash bars.
After some research I didn't like any cages or engine mounted bobbins :sad1:
So I came out with idea of my own bars to which I want to attach day-running LED's.

At the moment all is "soldered" with gaffa tape and subject to adjustments to fit around knees and filter also thinking about soldering vs. screwing to frame.

Any tips or advice more than welcome :worthy:

Next Friday MOT :D and back on the road

Sorry for pic quality but they are comming crap when auto flash is set :(

Interesting but not easy on the eye  Are you doing it because of the commuting? Why not just risk it and fix it if necessary?

Just my opinion - what do I know :oooops:

Hope you mean 'brazing' or 'welding' rather than 'soldering' ....but to fix it to the frame? Nah! And you'll possibly wreck the frame anyway if you tumble, as the impact transfers loads to areas not designed to cope. Rather let your leg be the cushion... :D

I am just toy-ing with the idea of having bars - for now ...

I've seen so many times drivers cutting in or changing lines without indication -that makes you think about your own safety - also don't want to wreck bike.

I am hoping that Vance&Hines will pull a trick of letting all know that I am coming  and wouldn't have problem with filtering.

So I am going to WELD tubes together and attach brackets for temporary fitting to the frame in case I will need them in future. :ner:

I think those bars would do more harm than good .............The best crash bungs you can use on an X1 are the original airbox and matching scoop . Tubers tend to crash well compared to most bikes so transmitting side impacts into the frame in my opinion is a very very bad idea.

Must say - on today's ride I noticed some running "irregularity" ...

After about 5 min of riding - engine is starting to misfire and backfire with some periods of regular work. Engine warning light is comming on but ... no noticable loss of power - all within 2000-2500 rpm :( {odd thing is that - back to idle speed and everything comes back to normal}

However after reving up and above 3000 rpm all above disappear and The Beast is running to hell :D

Spark plugs check, O2 sensor, .... any other "obvious" things to look for??

Did you put any new fuel in, or were you running on old fuel left in the tank?
