Hi,

I just bought an 08 Buell XB12X for my wife.

I had a very enjoyable ride home, the bike has a stage 1 tune with power commander and remus exhaust and seems pristine.

My wife started commuting on it today, graduating from a tatty looking 1997 Aprilia Pegaso. She likes it!

The primary reason for me to get the Buell is the belt drive (I have enough of chains), and I could not think of a shaft drive bike which would be as suited to the job required as the Buell.

Hopefully it will prove as reliable and sturdy (crashed twice) as the pegaso was!

A 12X for the wife! Nice. 8-)

Try not to let her bin it, though, unless you added something sturdy to protect the frame / tank. :yup:

She's had 3 offs in the last 4 years (since getting her license), thankfully without long term damage (still 2 bikes totalled because repairs cost more than what they were worth out of 3!) so hopefully she has enough experience now. None of them were her fault either and they were whilst commuting in London which greatly increases the risk factor.

She commented this morning that the extra power made it safer...

I'm going to have a few questions in the technical forum, because I cannot leave a bike alone...

Welcome!

So, why isn't your wife joining up? Not scared of us is she?

Drop the Uly on its frame and dent it too badly ... you could be looking at a write off :?
