Hi,
I just took a test ride on a Buell XB12Scg and was hooked,
my offer's been accepted on an 08 model, if it's going to be ready to pick up on Thursday then the deal's on but if not then the deal's off (Big trip on Friday)
I had a spill a week past Thursday on my previous bike so this search for a new bike had to be quick. The Buell ticked all the boxes so here I am, hopefully to join the UK Beg community :D

Cheers.......Donna
ps. I'm looking for a tall screen if anybody has one spare?

What computer are you using and what resolution are you looking for?

Welcome, Baroness, hope the bike is ready for you and your big trip. Enjoy the ride. 8-)

Do Trojan's prices not include VAT?

I'd be surprised, as I understand that it is a legal requirement for prices to include VAT if the majority of the sales are to consumers rather than to the trade.

Even if the web site does include a disclaimer along the lines of "Prices shown do not include UK VAT tax, which is payable by residents of the European Union. This will be added automatically at the end of the check out process.", that is a breach of the 1987 Consumer Protection Act.

From the DTI's own code of practice...
Quote:
Valued Added Tax
(i) Price indications to consumers
2.2.6 All price indications you give to private consumers, by whatever means, should include VAT.

I was only making Baroness Orczy aware of the price change as she hits the checkout.
My first order from Trojan, caught me by surprise. I didn't notice the bottom of the page.
A few others have been caught out as well. I have and will continue to use Matt's business when and if I need stuff.

Not really relevant, though, is it? If he is breaking the law (which seems to be the case) doing something which you said has caught you and others, that's not on. IMO.

That used to really piss me off at my local Kwak shop when I was an impecunious student. I'd ring them up to find out the price of something like a rear sprocket (with teeth - luxury :P ). I'd then scrape together enough cash, get to the shop, get the fecking sprocket, and then find I didn't have enough cash cos they didn't quote the VAT :headbang: I've not really liked bike shops ever since :sad1:

Cheers for the welcome! Been a bit distracted and not had much time to get online! Thanks for advice Gary, I'll keep the VAT in mind. I didn't get a tall screen and now really feel that I don't need it! I coped ok with the buffeting (probably a better idea too as it kept my speed down a wee bit... :oooops: )

The trip was great, came back in one piece! A biker chic tour to Germany for (we didn't know each other that well  - but do now  so it will be repeated!!!!)

Here we all are heading for East Germany....a wee pit stop on the way! As a group of biker chics we received a lot of attention! The buell was admired everywhere I'm happy to say!Image

Hello neighbour,

I'm getting a 57 Uly delivered from 'the west side' in the next week or so.........!

Mrs P who rides a BMW F650GS/Factory Lowered liked the look of the CG at Edinburgh Harley when we were there a few weeks ago. It'd be great to hear how you get on with your bike when you get it.....!

FP.
