Hello to one and all,
In a fit of madness in 2013 I sold my Ulysses and 1125R and bought something that was reliable, warranted and never failed.
Now that sanity has returned, I am about to return to the world of Buell ownership and look forward to troubling the Forum with daft questions yet again.
I am about to look at a number of bikes over the coming week, talk nicely to my long-suffering wife and make room in my garage for a new source of joy. If there is anyone on here who is looking to sell a 1125R (or even CR) feel free to contact me.
Look forward to meeting Buell owners in the West Country in the near future.

Thank you all for your welcome!

Am now the proud owner (?) of a '59 plate 1125R in Racing Red.

With 2 hopefully careful previous owners and only 2244 miles on the clock (due I believe to little usage rather than mechanical maladies) I have bought a sound machine that looks as fresh as the day as it left the factory.

Should you drive past me, sitting at the roadside in the wonderful South West please feel free to wave and give me a "I told you so" look.

May my patience hold firm and my character not undergo too much rebuilding.

Can any forum members in the South West point me towards the best place to get major services done?

I will do the usual filters / oil changes but am not sufficiently mechanically talented to do anything that involves plugging the beast onto a laptop.

All suggestions gratefully received.

I’m sure they’ll be a few folk that’ll say the same but I’ll say it anyway. If you can, make the trip to Maz in Manchester. It’s worth it.

We bring Magz’ 1190 and X1 from Central Scotland, Magz won’t let anyone else work on them :yup:

Is it blue frame or Black frame? I'm guessing Black as I don't think i've seen blue frame with red bodywork. If black frame think about an ebr drilled oiling rotor mod if not already fitted and either type an Oberon clutch slave cylinder ;)

Black frame.

Stator is the original and is on the list for attention in the very near future.

Trip to Maz also on the cards for the New Year.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

You could send your rotor to Paul at Demeanour Customs in Suffolk and he will machine it to the same spec as an EBR one for a fraction of the price Tel 01953 681308.

Me too. Its a 4.5 hour run up for me, more if I get off the motorway, so I stay a night. I reckon I've got the area sussed.

Few tips: Stay at the B&B up the road, nice double room for £50 with a full English in the morning. Barton Villa.

The pub next door has cheap pints...I'm sure I got one for £2! Everything is cheaper up north for some reason :?

One visit up I got an Uber to Wetherspoon for a cheap steak but my last visit I found The Curry Cottage a short walk away on Foundry St. Excellent food with a huge menu at very reasonable prices. Reviews can do the talking https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restauran ... gland.html

If you like a bit of history there's a pretty cool museum next to the B&B. Was a little slow moving as I managed to arrive just as 3 buses from a rest home unloaded but I had a nice sandwich in the café courtyard next to the canal. https://www.tameside.gov.uk/museumsgalleries/portland

I find it a bit of fun going up there and exploring (I do like an adventure) Maz rate is great so you'll probably save some money in the longrun and your bike will be sorted and you'll learn some more about it.

The bike loves the road too and I felt little discomfit...They're no Harley but 5, 6 or even 7 hours a day is quite doable.

My 1125 was pretty much finished when I bought it (Exhaust, ECM, Oberon clutch, charging is fine) but I did have the usual ignition wire problem which Maz sorted. Other than that, 20k hassle free miles under her belt. I got the thicker saddlemen seat and slightly lower pegs too as I'm over 6 foot, but it only made a slight difference in comfort.

Have fun and roll on Spring!
