Do these Indian Enfields still have a floating bush big end, like the Brit ones did, or have they gone to shells or rollers?

I think they are all roller bearings now. Alpha bearings do a retro kit for older models that bolt right in with no other mods.

A very pretty bike. It's just a shame that, on paper at least, the original 250cc bike was quicker.

O' tempre, o' mores.

:yt: The original was possibly the only Brit 250 that stood a chance of getting near a ton (with a following wind lOl ) - until the gearbox broke lOl

All Bullets up to about 2005 have floating bush, thereafter they have rollers, these are far more forgiving of the intermittent nature of the oil pump, which gives one full rotation for about 6 engine revs. The worm and wheel pump drive mechanism is far from perfect and they are well known to fail (no lucky hands alternatives here :( ). Hitchcocks sell an aftermarket roller big end, but you need to be prepared to part with an arm and a leg, or settle for a rebuild every 20k or so wb

For security of oil feed, I used high capacity pumps in mine..... big mistake

Aha, so that's why it was so cheap! Is it available as a bolt on accessory?

It was in the box, but I'm struggling to fit it correctly. The speedo drive has some plastic lugs to locate it on the forks. Either I need to trim these lugs off, there's a spacer missing, or there's supposed to be a small gap :?
