Got to clean out my carb, so thought I'd get a forcewinder or something similar while I'm at it, fed up with lack of knee clearance. Bike is 98 S1 with Mikuni carb and c/f oval air filter. So a few questions.

1 Does it have to be Buell specific, or will a Sportster one do? e.g:-

http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Outlaw-HiFlow-636v-Air-Cleaner-Sportster-Complete-System-DK-AC-636v-SP-CS.htm

2 Any problem with using head breather bolts as shown in the above ad and this one:-

http://www.dkcustomproducts.com/Stage-3-Anodized-Black-Breather-Bolts-Harley-Sportster-Evo-DK-BB-AB-SPT.htm

3 Anyone got something suitable for sale?

I would have thought that the head bolt breathers would be a bit restrictive once the foam/filter's got gunked up, also you're going to be wearing any mayo/oil deposits on your pants.

Its come to the stage where i cant afford to keep piling parts into the bike. It now needs a piston, rotor, modification to stop gear selector indent hitting back of clutch plate, second fourth and fith gear selectors and selector drum plus all associated bearings and gaskets. The total sum of parts is 1.5k plus maz"s labour taking it to 2.5k.
This is after just spending just over 3k on it.
I have no other choice.

The trick is to find the right road where a Sport bike can't stretch its legs. A Buell (or my Husqvarna) is huge fun then!

Best to use XB rocker boxes IMO.

I'm sure you are right but that's a bit out of my league, unless it's just a case of unbolting the existing ones and plonking them on. And there's also the fact of being in Perth, which isn't exactly brimming with bike parts of any description lOl
