Right guys, I have had the Buell written off, and its graded as a Category N. It is all straight and the handlebars are straight still even though the bar end went, even the mirrors were still attached! The forks and frame are straight.

Its fixable , and I think if someone wants a good flat tracker or chop , its perfect, but I dont want to spend the money on it (I have no garage) as I am giving biking for a while, as the right wrist is still giving me trouble.

The bike started first time when I got it back from the salvage company, but I didnt want to run it longer than 30 seconds due to checking oil etc. Mileage is 21891 miles. White and Nuclear Blue frame

The list on the independant report is as follows, and my comments are in red and I can supply photos if wanted : -

REPAIR SCHEDULE
New parts required:-LH Engine Cover And Gasket (was leaking oil out of clutch cable entry and the cover is scuffed) , Gear Change Lever(obliterated) , Gear Lever Rubber (obliterated), Belly Panel (resprayable), Fuel Tank (actually fine) ,
Fuel Tank Cover (scratched on left side slightly) , Fuel Tank Outer Cover (Actually a Bagster cover - took most of the scuffing) , Clutch Lever (ball worn down on lever but not smashed) , Seat Frame (slight on the left hand side but should polish out) , LHF Fork Leg Lower (this actually is only the axle bolt end) , Sundry Parts
Specialist/Sundry charges:-Alignment Check, Mainframe paint
Remove And Refit parts:-Job Allowance, Final Check And Road Test

COST OF REPAIRS
The cost of the replacement new parts would be approximately £1,340.00 (this can be a lot cheaper as sourced from ebay)

ROADWORTHY STATE
In our opinion this vehicle was not roadworthy at the time of our inspection as a result of the damage sustained due to
the gear lever damage.

Please PM me with offers over £1700 for the whole bike as is , or I will consider breaking it to the forum first.

Thanks :maz: for your advice.

Would you be able to forward some photos. I'm interested in purchasing your X1. I have to ask if you have a figure in mind you'd let it go at?

Regards,Neil

Well as we know - There's "restoration" and there's "RESTORATION". And there's big difference.

There are mechanics and there are mechanics, and there can be a vast difference between those who think they know what they are doing ,and those that actually do know what they are doing .
