Very close with your estimation of my plans but plan "B" is so unexpected that I can hardly believe myself, and plan "C" is keep it until spring and try the market again. Either way I keep the bike but a member on here made a sensible offer 3 days ago and I only just saw it today so plan "A" may still be a goer.

Nice bike, and one owner. I hope you get what you want for it.
I came close to parting with mine a few months ago, but I went and stood in a corner, and had a quiet word with myself. They're a great bike. :yup:
I'm curious as to what you've replaced it with though...

Well it reached £2850 on eBay but that's not enough for me to part with it. I had a tentative offer of £3200 from someone on here but they never came back to me so it's still in the garage. Plan "B" evolved when the Mrs said she would give me £3000 to keep it! Not too sure if she's serious but here's hoping.
I thought I wanted a Honda VFR 1200 to go touring on but after a test ride you could not give me one as a present. Under-powered until you give it some stick and too uncomfortable for touring. A friend suggested that I should try a Triumph 1200 Explorer so I did and what a revelation! Almost as much character as the X1 with more power more comfort and all the latest gizmos. Full set of boxes, heated grips, heated seat, ABS, traction control, cruise control and they can all be switched off for playtime.
Europe here we come but meantime the Buell is still for sale for a decent offer. Must be a better buy than the green one on eBay at the mo for a quid short of 5 grand.

My wife and my friends think I should keep it so I will hang on to it for now and sell the Triumph when I have toured Europe next year. I am probably going to be buried in a deep grave sitting on this bloody bike. :old:

(The wife works part time for an undertaker though so I should get a good discount when the time does come)

You could be buried with your arse sticking out of the ground as a convenient bike park

Send him a PM. Maybe he'll get an e-mail notification as it appears he really was only active here enough to post up an ad, which means he wouldn't see your post in any reasonable time, if at all.
