If it is lighter and you're getting the same lift on the plates, it can only be down to less frictional loss in the cable. |

I've used the Muller Power clutch ramp on a couple Buells and had good luck. The ramp angle is steeper and requires less angular lever pull to disengage the clutch. The claim is 20% lighter pull. I guess it could be measured with a fish ... |

The Magura release mech, NOT the lever extender that fits to the OEM release, is the best solution ... due to the trade off.......get it wrong and you're into circa 400 quid just for the new clutch parts you'll need :) |

A couple of the companies like Free Spirits did, or may still do, a soft clutch ramp lever which may help. It makes it easier on the hand, but nothing is free, you have to move the lever further. Maz will know the answer if the poor bloke has any time left to speak and breath ! |

I converted the XB12R to a Magura hydraulic clutch (from ASB) a couple of years ago. I love it. It only reduced the effort at the lever by a small amount, but feels nice and smooth. I only bought it to avoid cable stretch and snapping. It's one of my favourite things on my bike. |
